Some cashouts need a quick ID check and a selfie before we can send the money. Your balance is safe.
Why a selfie and ID?
To confirm it's you. We compare your selfie against a photo ID, the same way you'd verify yourself anywhere else. It takes about a minute.
We use your selfie and ID only to confirm it's you. Verisoul handles the check, and they're GDPR and CCPA compliant.
What you'll need
- A government-issued ID with a photo (driver's license, passport, state ID, or national ID card).
- A few minutes in good light.
- Your phone's camera.
How to do it
- Open the message we sent (push or email) and tap the link, or open the app and tap your wallet.
- The verify screen will guide you through the ID capture and the selfie.
- Front of the ID, back of the ID, then a quick selfie. The on-screen prompts walk you through each step.
After the check
If everything matches, we run one more quick check and send the money. Most clear within a few minutes and you'll get the redemption link by email.
If the check doesn't pass on the first try, you'll get one more chance. If it doesn't pass on the second try either, the cashout will come back as not cleared this time.
If you can't verify right now
You can return to the verify screen later from the wallet. Your cashout will wait for you.
Tips
- Use a phone if you can. The check works much better than on a tablet or computer.
- Use the actual physical ID. Photos of an ID on another screen don't work.
- Make sure all four corners of the ID are visible in the frame.
- No glare on the ID. If the laminate is reflecting, tilt slightly.
- For the selfie: no hats, sunglasses, or face coverings, and look directly at the camera.
If the screen keeps asking you to fix your lighting or pose, Verisoul's tips page walks through what helps.
What about my information?
Your ID and selfie go directly to our verification partner Verisoul. We don't see or store images of your ID. Verisoul tells us only whether the check passed.
